National Ambulance Participates in Ambulance Media Forum

Dubai, 14 November 2019: National Ambulance participated in the Ambulance Media Forum organised last Wednesday by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), held at its Head Quarters in Dubai.

Ahmed Al Hajeri participated in a panel discussion with DCAS CEO, Khalifa Al Darrai and Dr Maitha Al Darei, Deputy Director of Emergency & Public Safety Department, Abu Dhabi Police, in which the history, development and current status of the ambulance sector in the UAE was discussed.

Al Hajeri stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between the ambulance services in the UAE, highlighting that service providers are already cooperating, not only on an operational level, but also in exchanging knowledge and studies, as well as joint efforts in tackling and overcoming challenges.

The forum also discussed the most important issues and challenges related to ambulance service and media, media coverage during times of crisis and emergency situations and its role in supporting the work of the ambulance services and emergency providers, by raising awareness and reporting credible information.

It was also proposed to observe 13th of November of every year as ‘Emirati Paramedic Day’. The three ambulance providers- National Ambulance, Dubai Ambulance and Abu Dhabi Police Emergency and Public Safety Department- would come together under the theme of ‘One Ambulance...One Team’ As part of that, 30 Emirati EMTs from National Ambulance, Abu Dhabi Police and Dubai Ambulance were honoured during the event.

The event was attended by Ahmed Al Hajeri, National Ambulance CEO, Khalifa Hassan Al Darrai, DCAS CEO; Expert Colonel Ahmed Bourguiba, Director of Dubai Police Crisis and Disaster Management; Major Matran Khalil, Head of Operations Management at Dubai Civil Defense; Dr Maitha Al Darei, Deputy Director of Emergency & Public Safety Department, Abu Dhabi Police; and Alia Al Theeb, Senior Manager - Strategic Communications, Strategic Media Affairs at Government of Dubai Media Office, in addition to medical emergency professionals and members from media.
