27 February 2025, Abu Dhabi: The National Ambulance team provided essential support for the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious cross-country rallies. Organized by the Emirates Motorsport Organization (EMSO) and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event took place in the Al Dhafra region from February 21 to 27, 2025. This year’s event witnessed a rigorous FIA Motorsports stage race with 165 local and international drivers and included a pre-race prologue, practice sessions, and ceremonial FIA events.
In collaboration with the 23 FIA Medical Delegation Teams from the UK, the National Ambulance team ensured comprehensive emergency medical coverage, with 8 medics, 3 ambulances, an operational support unit, and 2 air ambulances staffed by National Ambulance personnel. Additionally, the team set up a clinic to suit the needs of medical teams and provide immediate care in the challenging desert environment.
