National Ambulance Medics Helped Family Welcome Eid Baby Boy Gift

Fujairah, 24 July 2021: On the third day of Eid Al Adha, around 8:00 PM, National Ambulance medics, responded to a call of a woman who unexpectedly went into labour with her second baby facing an emergency home birth in Khorfakkan, Fujairah.

Immediately the Ambulance Communications Centre dispatched two ambulances. Soon after, the ambulance crews Aisha Alsaadi, Latefah Alhantoobi, Michael San Juan and Johnfrey Pacis, arrived on scene and the crew females, Aisha and Latefah, delivered the baby boy safely, cut the umbilical cord and attended to both mother and baby boy. Having stabilised the patients, both crews transferred them in a stable condition to Khorfakkan hospital to receive the appropriate medical care.

Both mother and baby are now safe and all the medics were very happy to help the mother welcome her special bundle of joy on Eid Al Adha.

National Ambulance urges pregnant women to undergo regular visits to the doctor and follow their instructions in terms of the expected date of delivery, true labour signs and symptoms to reduce the probability of facing sudden labour and avoid associated risks of delivering outside hospital environment.
