Abu Dhabi, 2 April 2013: National Ambulance non-medical staff took the First Aid, CPR and AED training last month in batches. Employees must have the necessary training to appropriately administer first aid to victims of accidents or illnesses in the workplace until they can obtain professional medical attention.

The staff learned basic principles, how to recognise and appropriately respond to medical emergencies, and specific steps for treating injuries. The 8-hour course also included CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training for cardiac emergencies, and first aid for environmental emergencies such as extreme heat or cold, bites and stings. At the completion of the training, a staff member said “I feel I have more confidence now to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life”

National Ambulance Education Centre offers certified First Aid, CPR and AED group training and classes for workplace.
