National Ambulance Strengthens International Partnership with Singapore Health Services

Abu Dhabi, 21 October 2019: National Ambulance recently received Dr. Liu Nan, Principal Research Scientist from Singapore Health Services and Duke-NUS Medical School at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The parties discussed the deepening of cooperation between them and the strengthening of partnerships and exchange of knowledge and experiences in the areas of clinical research and development. The meeting was part of National Ambulance’s commitment to excellence and continually improving pre-hospital emergency care delivery in the UAE in line with international standards.

During a tour of National Ambulance Headquarters, Dr. Liu was briefed on the ambulance communications centre and the smart systems and high tech used in the management of the emergency service’s fleet and ambulance resources. The tour also included a visit to the Medical Services Department, which undertakes medical research and development, clinical audit, clinical governance and continuing medical education units.

Ahmed Saleh Al Hajeri, Chief Executive Officer of National Ambulance, confirmed his commitment to continue forming collaborations, sharing knowledge and research exchange with local and international experts and to establish innovative partnerships to provide the best ambulance services in the country, pointing out that National Ambulance benefits from Singapore's experience in pre-hospital emergency medical services. Such partnerships also provide a platform for highlighting around the world the advanced level of services in the UAE.

For his part, Dr. Liu Nan praised National Ambulance’s system in managing operations and mobilising ambulances resources, as well as the advanced systems and equipment used in providing the ambulance service. In the last few years, National Ambulance has participated in many international committees and contributed to international clinical research in cooperation with local, regional and international organisations and institutions in order to enhance the ambulance service and improve performance in line with international standards and best practices required in this field. It has also been actively contributing to the representation of the UAE on an international level in the field of critical emergency care.
