Abu Dhabi, 31 December 2019: National Ambulance confirmed it has taken all emergency preparations and proactive measures for New Year’s celebrations across the Northern Emirates. The emergency medical provider has activated its proactive emergency plan dedicated for public holidays, which raises levels of readiness and alertness through the increase of staff in the ambulance communications centre, re-distribution of ambulance crews and deploying extra ambulances around hot spots and vital roads including traffic congested roads, and areas that will witness New Year’s celebrations. Those areas include the fireworks display in Murjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, celebrations across churches in Al Yarmook area in Sharjah, Ajman Corniche and Alaqa area in Fujairah.

National Ambulance’s preparations are part of an integrated pre-emergency plan to increase emergency resources and readiness to ensure public safety and preparedness to deal with any emergency situations and potential road traffic accidents that may occur on New Year’s Eve. The comprehensive plan includes National Ambulance working closely with its strategic partners in the Ministry of Interior, mainly Police and Civil Defence to ensure public safety and efficient response in case of emergencies.

National Ambulance urges people to abide by safety guidelines and precautions during the celebrations to ensure they enjoy the occasion. People should call 998 or use the NA998 app to request emergency ambulance in case of emergency situations.
