Abu Dhabi, April 25, 2018: National Ambulance today launched the promotional video for the second year of its Emirati Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Programme, which was announced in March, to target UAE Nationals in the Northern Emirates to pursue careers in emergency medical service. The programme, being delivered again in collaboration with the University of Sharjah (UOS), will commence in the 2018-2019 academic year and will train and prepare joiners to serve on the frontline in support of the community. This follows the success of its inaugural year, which will conclude in June once the students complete the final phase of the programme based on practical training and ambulance/ hospital placements.
National Ambulance will be reaching out to the community via video, (which can be seen here) which will be shown across social media platforms and local media. The video encourages young Emiratis to apply for the one-year training programme to get the opportunity to work in a vital sector with National Ambulance serving their community and nation after successfully completing the programme. It also sheds light on the noble values and human aspects of the EMT profession and its vital role in saving the lives of others. The video was created in collaboration with EMT students from the first year of the programme, to deliver a message to the UAE youth to join them in serving their community.
Ahmed Saleh Al Hajeri, Deputy CEO of National Ambulance, said: “This year we aim this year to take in a larger number of Emirati students after the success of our programme in its inaugural year. We are committed to providing the nation with qualified Emirati emergency medical professionals who are well-prepared to work in this vital sector and serve their communities in line with UAE Leadership’s vision to promote careers for local people in critical sectors, such as the health service. It is a worthy profession and we encourage all qualified UAE Nationals to rise to the challenge and participate in our noble cause.”
Qualified UAE Nationals can apply for the one-year training programme, which provides a professional qualification and guaranteed offer of a job at National Ambulance for all students who successfully complete the course.
