NATIONAL AMBULANCE HOSTS COHESIVE TEAMS WORKSHOP AT EXPO 2020 DUBAI
Workshop explores “Patrick Lencioni's model of the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team”
25 Mar 2022Abu Dhabi, March 25, 2022: National Ambulance, recently, conducted a training workshop at Expo 2020 Dubai entitled "Cohesive Teams". Organised by the Human Resources and Corporate Services Department, the workshop was designed to enhance cohesion between teams and effectively align with the changing work patterns (hybrid and flexible work environments) resulting from the global Covid-19 pandemic to ensure high-quality performance and continuity of business.
The workshop explored the important factors that contribute to achieving harmony and cohesion in the workplace, which positively reflects on employees’ productivity and mutual cooperation creating a positive work environment. It was attended by senior officials from National Ambulance and members of both the Human Resources and Corporate Services and the Fleet teams, who all actively participated in the discussions and activities during the workshop.
The workshop also presented a set of concepts, most notably “Patrick Lencioni's model of the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team”. Lencioni identified five behaviors - Trust, Conflict, Commitment, Accountability, and Results – that will result—if each is maximised—in a team that operates as efficiently and effectively as possible. The advantages of cohesive teams on the individual and organisations were also shared with the participants, and several lessons learned from the application of the model on an international and national level were presented.
National Ambulance’s Manager of Human Resources and Corporate Services and Head of Emiratisation, Nouf Abdullah, stressed the importance of learning from Lencioni's model and applying the lessons of the five behaviors to maximise teams’ efficiency and effectiveness. Adding, that it all starts with building trust among team members which is pivotal in achieving team cohesion and creating a safe and respectful environment that constructively deals with differences and workplace diversity. When team members feel that their different views and ideas are welcome in the decision-making process, they tend to commit to achieving the goals. This results in a cohesive environment with a sense of team accountability where everyone feels rewarded by being part of the team, Nouf Abdullah explained.
