National Ambulance Extends Application Deadline for Emirati EMT Programme

NA began interviewing eligible applicants

Extension of deadline provides additional opportunities for Emirati youth

Abu Dhabi, July 25, 2017: National Ambulance announced today that the deadline for applications to its Emirati EMT Programme will be extended to August 17th. The decision provides an equal opportunity for all eligible candidates, including those who are outside the country on summer vacation, to apply. It will also ensure the selection of the best young Emiratis who are qualified to join the programme. Those who have already registered their interest and other students, who are eligible for the programme, will now have additional time to complete their applications, attend selection interviews and get the opportunity to become a full-time EMT with National Ambulance immediately after successful graduation.

Ahmed Saleh Al Hajeri, Deputy CEO of National Ambulance, said: “We are proud of the great response of Emirati youth in registering their interest in our programme. This affirms Emirati youth and their families’ awareness of the importance of working in this vital sector and the desire to serve their country. We hope that the deadline extension will give everyone interested, especially those who are outside the country or those ones who did not have the chance to register yet, the time to take advantage of this great opportunity.”

Last week National Ambulance started interviewing eligible applicants, who came from all over the Northern Emirates, at the University of Sharjah’s College of Medicine and the Clinical and Surgical Training Center. In the coming weeks, The National Ambulance Selection Panel will continue to interview applicants who have met all the enrollment conditions and requirements.

The full-time programme, which will be delivered in cooperation with the University of Sharjah and Charles Sturt University, will offer up to 35 UAE Nationals the opportunity to gain the theoretical knowledge and practical experience necessary to take up a full-time position as an EMT with National Ambulance. Following the selection process, successful candidates will be taken through a training programme with modules consisting of: a Foundation module handled by the University of Sharjah, a Core module based on Charles Sturt University’s Curriculum; and an Operations module led by National Ambulance.

Interested candidates should visit  www.nationalambulance.ae/emt or University of Sharjah’s College of Medicine in person to apply and find more information about the programme. For admission to the programme, the candidate must: be a UAE National, be at least 18 years of age and not over 30, have completed UAE National Service, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have good command of English, pass the selection interview, and have or are in process of applying for a UAE Driving License.
